Katy Perry slammed for ‘unforgivable’ actions amid legal suit with veteran claiming he sold his house while of ‘unsound mind’

Katy Perry and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, are embroiled in a protracted legal dispute with 85-year-old veteran Carl Westcott over the sale of his Montecito, California, mansion. In 2020, Westcott agreed to sell his home to Perry for $15 million. Shortly thereafter, he sought to rescind the agreement, claiming that due to a recent back surgery and the effects of Huntington’s disease, he was not of sound mind during the transaction. Despite his claims, a judge ruled in favor of Perry in December 2023, upholding the sale. Perry has since filed a lawsuit seeking $6 million in damages for back rent and alleged property damages. Westcott’s family has publicly criticized Perry’s actions, describing them as “unforgivable” and accusing her of lacking empathy. The damages trial is scheduled for August 2025. citeturn0news9
