I Noticed Likes on My Husband’s Facebook Page from His Ex — Then My Little Daughter Said She Knows Her

Scrolling through my husband Mark’s Facebook page, I noticed a familiar name popping up repeatedly in the likes and comments. Jessica. His ex.

At first, I brushed it off. We all have pasts, right? But something felt off. The comments were casual, yet too friendly. “Looking great, Mark!” on an old vacation photo. A heart emoji on a picture of our dog. It wasn’t outright flirtatious, but it made me uneasy.

Later that evening, as I was tucking in our five-year-old daughter, Emma, she suddenly said something that stopped me in my tracks.

“Mommy, I saw Daddy’s friend today! The pretty lady with blonde hair.”

My heart pounded. “What do you mean, sweetheart? Where did you see her?”

Emma yawned. “She gave me candy when Daddy picked me up from daycare. She said I was a little princess.”

I forced a smile, kissed her forehead, and turned off the light. But inside, my mind was racing. Jessica had met my daughter?

I confronted Mark as soon as he came out of the shower. “Mark, have you been talking to Jessica?”

His face turned pale. “What? No, why would I?”

I crossed my arms. “Then why is she all over your Facebook? And why did Emma say she met her?”

His jaw tightened. “Look, she reached out a while ago. Just small talk. She works near Emma’s daycare, and one day, she happened to be outside when I was picking Emma up. She said hello, that’s all.”

My stomach twisted. “And you didn’t think to tell me?”

He sighed. “I didn’t think it was a big deal. Nothing’s going on, I swear.”

But my trust was shaken. The next morning, I dropped Emma off at daycare myself. As I was leaving, I saw a woman standing across the street, watching. Blonde hair. Stylish coat. Jessica.

Our eyes met. She smirked and waved.

I didn’t wave back.

I wasn’t sure what game she was playing, but I knew one thing—I wasn’t going to let her play it with my family.
